Man I am getting bad at this! Sorry guys!
In the last month my head has been everywhere!
I love it here with the kids! As I speak I am sitting in my house located right in the heart of the village, with kids riding by on bikes. (Which were actually donated from Canada, Calgary to be specific!) Or walking by. I am just listening and enjoying the shouts and squeals of them all.
I would normally be right in the middle of it all but today is my day off. But could not help myself to a few cuddles with some of the babies and chatting with some of the teens as they ride back and forth.

Over the past month there have been quick a few break ins with many of the international volunteers, houses which are all located down the hill from the village and away from sight most of the day. Don't worry nothing has happened to me. Which has been great. God has been protecting Salome and I up here in the village! Because of this MCC has been talking about moving Dominik (SALTer) and I to either a different location all together or to just be off site during the night. Dominik and I feel strongly that we should be here at Lily even though things are getting tough. As of now we are here and praying constantly that the break ins stop happening. If they continue there is a good chance we will be taken out of here. Which breaks my heart when I think about it.
On a happier note some of the things I have been doing around the village is building relationships with kids. What better way to do that than baking? Swimming? And going on bike rides?

My great roommate, Salome! We will be joined by another girl on Saturday! |
Almost every weekend Salome and I try to have a group of girls over to bake something. Not only are we having fun making a mess and eating yummy treats we are having them build skills of how to bake! Like I had mentioned the village got donated bikes not too long ago, right now its the activity that everyone wants to do. Most of the time the teens ride back and forth on the bikes in the village, but we also try when its nice to go out of the village and actually go for a little ride into the surrounding community. And well swimming is just fun! Especially when it is hot out! Though after two groups have been in the water, you don't really want to get in because the water is....brown and looks nasty!
Last week Prisca, Dominik and I took a few days off an heading to St. Lucia, a town 3 hours north of Durban. There we enjoyed lots of beach time and also a day safari! This was a great distraction from things and a nice get away! :)

| The teens who got baptized! :) |
This past Sunday we also celebrated 5 of the teens getting baptized! This was very exciting as they were the first ones at Lily to get baptized!
On another note. My supervisor Jon was admitted to the hospital earlier this week. He had a blood clot in his lung. Prayer for him and his family would be great! He is now at home in PMB and it on some medication but prayer that he would recover would be fantastic! Thanks!
Until next time....find some kids to bake with! Really its fun! :)
Here are some pictures from the safari!
