I was trying to wait for the right time to post.
At this point I am doing a lot of waiting. I have finished all my fundraisers and have gotten my goal of $5,500!!! Praise God! There is still some money coming in, which is great because it still goes toward my trip! There has also been some money that some friends and family have given to me and will go into my bank account while I am gone to help pay for my student loans while I am gone. MCC will cover a portion of my student loans but I need to put together some more money to make sure I am fully covered for the whole year I am in South Africa!
So the waiting is not with the money! But it is with my VISA; I had sent my VISA application in about a month ago and two weeks later got it back saying I was missing pieces of information for them to complete the process. I got all the piece together as quickly as I could; though one of the things I had to get was my fingerprinting done for vulnerable sector because I am working with kids. It has now been over a week waiting for the results for the fingerprinting. Once I get the results back then I can then again send my application for my VISA. Until than I wait!
At first it stressed me out quite a bit thinking that it was not all going to work out. But over the past few weeks it has slowly been getting better I am no longer stressed about things coming together! God has given me a great sense of peace! My only sadness over the past few weeks is the thought about leaving. I talked a bit last time about how I am going to have a hard time leaving my family and friends behind. I still even more so now am going to have a hard time leaving. Family is always hard to say bye too and after this past weekend of getting to celebrate our annual Christmas in July it made me realize how much I am really going to miss each and everyone of them! My roommate and I have been spending a lot of time together too which I know when the time comes is going to make it way harder to say good-bye. But for now its good to be around a good friend who knows how to make me laugh! Until next time make sure you spend time with a good friend who can make you laugh!
